Each project is spearheaded by a dedicated project manager who works very closely with this extensive team of specialists around the globe to ensure that you receive the best and most actionable data possible. The project manager will work with you on a day-to-day basis, whether they are answering your questions about avoiding a naming mistake or guiding you in the selection of languages and markets for testing. Vernon is an international entrepreneur and a global citizen. Born in Washington, DC, he has lived in the United States, Peru, Mexico and Haiti, and has done business around the world. He founded TravelingBrand in January 2011, after building the global brand analysis division of Choice Translating, Inc., a linguistic services company he owns with his wife Michelle. Previously he co-founded and led Rack Technologies, Inc., a data communications products manufacturer, and launched the international department of Leviton Manufacturing Company’s Telcom Unit. Always curious and hungry to learn, Vernon devours information and asks lots of questions. He has a B.A. in international studies, economics and Spanish from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also completed the EO Entrepreneurial Masters Program at MIT. Passionate about making a positive difference in the world, Vernon supports international poverty-reduction projects focusing on education of young girls and micro-finance. He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife Michelle and their daughter.
Having parents from France and Panama, Michelle learned early on to navigate other languages, cultures and countries. Building on that foundation, she launched her first company, Choice Translating, in 1995 while still an undergraduate at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She co-founded TravelingBrand with her husband Vernon Menard in 2011.
Michelle holds a B.S.B.A. in international business and a B.A. in French from UNC Charlotte. In 2000, the U.S. Small Business Administration named her North Carolina Young Entrepreneur of the Year. She was recognized in 2004 as one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” high achievers and was a finalist for Business North Carolina magazine’s Small Business of the Year award in 2005. In 2007 she received the Charlotte Business Journal’s “Women in Business” achievement award. She was recognized as one of the “50 Most Influential Women” by The Mecklenburg Times in 2011.
Michelle has been an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Charlotte Chapter since 2002 and she currently serves on the advisory board of the UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business.
Born and educated in the U.K., Jenna began her journey into the language industry at the age of 19 at a large translation agency. In 2004 Jenna moved to Montreal, Canada, to continue her career as a Localization Project Manager, learn French and broaden her experience in the language arena. During her 20+ year career in the linguistics industry she has led virtual teams on complex and technical localization projects, managing software, documentation, e-learning, websites, multimedia and marketing projects ensuring quality assurance at every stage of the project cycle. She was the ISO Quality Coordinator of the Montreal office and guided the site through three successful certifications during a three-year period. Her industry experience spans a wide spectrum and includes market research, gaming, IT software & documentation, manufacturing, medical, tourism and food.
Jenna is actively involved in the volunteer community and donates her time weekly to The Caring Bridge, a nonprofit committed to bringing friends and family together during any form of health journey.
